For a few years now, after stumbling upon the torsion box style top that has been floating around on the internet, I have wanted to build one for myself. My son just turned 1, and he is just in love with trains. So, I figured why not dig out my old HO train set, make a cool train setup based around the torsion box setup, and layout a simple track system on it. It works out perfectly, because it has a bunch of little cubby holes around the perimeter to store trains and other train-affiliated items when not in use on the table top.
Since this design is relatively challenging to cut by hand, we will be selling kits to make the build a little easier, and selling dxf files for those who already have a CNC router, and just want a ready-to-cut design for their machine.
