RC CG Height Calculator

Weigh the car level, then with the rear axle lifted a known height. The shift in front weight gives the CG height. Example values shown.

Measurements

How to measure

  1. Lock the suspension: swap shocks for solid links, or zip-tie at ride height. Otherwise the car squats and the result is wrong.
  2. Weigh total and front (FL+FR) with the car level.
  3. Raise the rear axle on blocks by a known height (bigger is more accurate, 50–80 mm). Front wheels stay on the scales.
  4. Record front weight again. Axle height is the tire's loaded radius.

Small weight shifts mean small numbers, so use the largest lift you can and scales with 0.1 g resolution. Repeat a few times and average.
